Zeppelin

I was tuning my sunburst-blue Ibanez guitar last night in preparation for the open mic night at Tierra Coffee roasters on Madison Ave. Open mic started at 7pm and my friend Jess had texted me earlier saying I should come play because she was working late. I was sifting through my old records to see what song I wanted to cover and which notes I could hit with my raspy voice, my fingers started to hurt after ten minutes of strumming because my guitar callus's from the summer had long left the tips of my fingers.

While I was looking through my vintage collection of records, ranging from Stevie Wonder's "Song's in the Key of Life" Album, Seals and Croft's "Get Closer" and Rolling Stone's "Tattoo You". I set my record player up, plugged it into my speakers, and let to needle slowly press down on the black vinyl of Led Zeppelin's "In Through the Out Door." I watched as the black disc spun around and around, it was once my mother's album back in the 80's when she was in college. Excessively, but thankfully she labeled and dated everything she owned religiously and there was a neatly hand-written tag that read Tasha Robinson (her maiden name) along with her college address.

I was consumed in Led Zeppelin's "All My Love", I wanted to hear more and play more but my fingers were yelling at me to stop and my Jimi Hendrix ringtone interrupted my zen-like state.

Listen to this with a candle burning and you will see your future
